Hello colleagues,

I'm sure some of you have been following the political and economic battle going on regarding renewables versus coal fired electricity in Boulder Colorado.     Perhaps the time has come for us to support these type of local initiatives?   Here is one online media discussion of the debate.

Your input and discussion on how the  climate change science, communication and education community might support such local initiatives is invited.   At the Chapman climate meeting there was substantial discussion, both formal and informal, about how we may proceed with some level of support in the public debates.  I suggest that providing good science talks in Boulder while this is ongoing would be an excellent contribution.

Your comments and discussion are most welcome.

Best,
Jim
