The AGU Position Statement Task Force is reviewing AGU's current position statements to determine if subject matter gaps exist that would necessitate any new statements. It is important for us to hear from members like you who are versed in both science and policy. Background:

AGU shares a collateral sense of responsibility to assure that the results of geophysical research are made available to benefit all mankind. AGU adopts position statements that relate the understanding and application of the geophysical sciences to relevant public policy. 
 
Each statement is reassessed every four years to ensure that statements remain timely, relevant, and scientifically accurate. In addition to reviewing current statements, AGU accepts recommendations from its membership for new statements at any time.
