As far as your request for potential authors on DM list, I am pleased to pass you the following information.
Dr. Jerome Baschet, Professor at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris, and member of the Groupe d'anthropologie historique de l'Occident Medieval (more info here:
http://gahom.ehess.fr/document.php?id=505), led in the early nineties a team in charge of the project of indexing the Vatican Library and the creation of a thesaurus.
Moyen Age, T. 106, 1 (1994): 179-188.

Dear List,
In 2009, the Digital Medievalist Journal will be publishing a special
issue on the lessons learned from pre-web digital medieval projects.
The editors have compiled a list of scholars we will be inviting to
submit articles for this issue, however we feel the list as it stands
is rather Anglo-centric. We are turning to the list to suggest
potential authors - either scholars who themselves developed pre-web
projects, or who have studied such projects with an historical view.
We would especially like the names of non-US, non-Canadian, and
non-English scholars. Please send suggestions to the DM list, or
directly to the DM Editorial Board (editors@digitalmedievalist.org).
Many thanks,
Dot
