Hello all
Many thanks to Domenico and Alex for suggestions and interest.

I agree that the topic is interesting and worth pursuing. Depending on the scope and timing, I may like to be involved. Unfortunately, I won't have any time or brain space until mid June. It'd be great to pick up this conversation later in the year.

Best wishes,
Suzana

Thank you, Suzana. Great read as Domenico says.

At GO::DH we have thrived through our working groups. Domenico's comments makes me think perhaps such a working group can form, with a concrete project in mind, for Knowledge Assymetries. Just an idea. I would help anyone setting up such a group setting up the working group, and sharing my experience working with such GO::DH groups.

Best,
a.

Dear Suzana and all,

great post! I enjoyed reading it and learned about research I was not aware of: the study on job seekers ethnic discrimination in Australia  is appalling. If we could only put together all these resources on knowledge inequality...
Perhaps we should start some sort of collective project? Last year I started to gather connections between media, food, energy, weapons and other type of industries and corporations for my Wikimedia cultural diversity presentation:

https://prezi.com/m/xx9np7hxc3t9/the-five-elements-map/

The idea was to map out the global hegemonies driving the processes of biocultural homogenization.
I'm not suggesting this could be a model. On the contrary, I learned on my expenses that there's too much work to do for one person, and also that we are lacking models and tools for describing large scale and cross-disciplinary phenomena.

If anyone on this list would be interested in this or similar projects, I'd be happy to collaborate.

Thanks!

Domenico

Hello all
You may be interested in the blog LARK (LIbrary Applied Research Kollektive). The most recent post Evidently unequal is my summary and comment on some research evidence on issues of equality at the workplace, particularly in knowledge fields. It includes a mention of last year's discussions in digital humanities.
