I enjoyed reading you chapter. In particular: "This gap between research and training opportunities is the most serious danger for the humanities at present. Without a new generation of digitally-trained colleagues, humanists will not only be at the mercy
of computer scientists, engineers and technicians, but also, more importantly, will risk not being able to understand from the inside the actual mechanisms of knowledge production".
Thinking about the building of the ciberinfrastructure as well, I feel that in Mexico at least, it is all very Science led and so the little that we do have is based upon the way research is done in the hard sciences and not in the Humanities. So we have
a double problem a) the ciber infrastructure is inappropriate and does not properly respond to humanist research needs b) we have very few humanists who can properly take advantage of it even if it was better designed.
Thanks for sharing.
