Our speaker is Dr. Kazuhiro Okada, an Associate Professor of Japanese Linguistics at Keio University, Japan. As an expert on Text Encoding Initiative (TEI), Dr. Okada will be discussing his experience of introducing an area-specific writing convention—such as ruby annotations---into TEI and its impact on East Asian digital philology and global TEI efforts as a whole.
