Does anyone else see analogies between the question of the location of
a server on the internet and that of where the super-natural giver of
christmas presents lives?

Once you free yourself from 'place' being a set of coordinates in
Cartesian 3-space, all sorts of previously unanswerable questions
become interesting. Harder to plot on google maps, but interesting
none-the-less.
