Dear all / Estimad@s compa??er@s,
Here goes my brief introduction. Aqu?? est?? mi presentaci??n (disculpen de
antemano los errores de espa??ol).
I???m a new librarian, recently hired by the University of Miami to work with
metadata and digital projects. I???m responsible for metadata creation and
management for our local Cuban Heritage Collection (
http://merrick.library.miami.edu/digitalprojects/chc.php). I???m also
interested in developing partnerships with projects in Lusophone
(Portuguese-speaking) countries. In 2011, I worked on a small case study of
Brazilian digital libraries, interviewing project managers from 13
initiatives throughout the country. Since then, I???ve been eager to
participate in DH projects that cross not only international, but also
socioeconomic borders.
Soy bibliotecario reci??n-contratado por la Universidad de Miami para
trabajar con metadatos y proyectos digitales. Soy responsable por la
creaci??n y gesti??n de metadatos para nuestra Colecci??n de Herencia Cubana (
http://merrick.library.miami.edu/digitalprojects/chc.php). Tambi??n me
interesa la posibilidad de colaborar con proyectos en pa??ses lus??fonos (de
lengua portuguesa). En 2011, hice un peque??o estudio de caso sobre
bibliotecas digitales brasile??as, entrevistando a administradores de 13
iniciativas de todo el pa??s. A partir de entonces, he tenido muchas ganas
de participar en proyectos de Humanidades Digitales que crucen fronteras,
sean internacionales, sean socioecon??micas.
Saludos cordiales / Best regards,

Hi All,
My name is Kathleen Reed and I'm the Assessment and Data Librarian at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo, BC, Canada. I did an MA in Humanities Computing at the University of Alberta several years ago and have moved away from DH since then. Now that I'm settled into being a professional librarian, I'm looking to get back into the DH scene, especially with intercultural projects. I look forward to conversations on this list.
Cheers,
Kathleen

Indeed!
I'm Dan O'Donnell, an Anglo-Saxon philologist and book historian by
training, who's been busy in DH (and Humanities Computing before it)
since beginning my digital edition of Caedmon's Hymn in 1998.
I'm a Professor of English at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta
Canada. In recent years, I've probably been more DH than medievalist.
I'm working on a major digital edition of the Ruthwell Cross
(http://visionarycross.org/) but a lot of my work has been on larger
meta-initiatives: digitalmedievalist.org, the TEI, this.
