Dear colleagues,
You are invited to apply to the National Invention to Innovation (i2I) Skills Training Programhttps://inventiontoinnovation.ca/programs/.
This academic program is an NSERC-funded initiative designed to assist Canadian researchers in bridging the gap between scientific discovery and commercialization.
The i2I Program is tailored for research scientists and engineers looking to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and navigate the complexities of bringing innovations to market. Based on decades of academic research and industry expertise, i2I Skills training is an asynchronous online cohort-based program (running from September 2025 to April 2026) that equips researchers to address the capacity, culture, and connectivity needs of the Canadian innovation ecosystem.
The program is competitive, but fees are covered for accepted graduate students, post-docs, and faculty.
The program considers three commercialization paths, including scientist-entrepreneurs, innovation champions, and translational scientists. It is a great place to start if you are looking to build an entrepreneurial capacity in your lab, explore early commercialization ideas, or help entrepreneurial students find new pathways. Participants join a vibrant network of academic experts, industry mentors, and translational colleagues across Canada, fostering collaboration and connectivity within the innovation ecosystem.
