Good morning everyone,
I am reaching out to share an opportunity to join a Horizon Europe Consortium. In the original email, June 11th was mentioned as a deadline, however, you have until the end of June to contact the consortium. The attached excel sheet lists various calls and specific skillsets that they are interested in that are associated with each call. The skills they are looking for are broad and cover topics ranging from health, natural sciences, and social sciences. You can submit a "proposal" to join the project. The proposal is extremely straightforward and involves completing three short questions in the excel sheet. These sections require your name, ORCID ID, a few sentences about how you could contribute to the specific project call, and the main methodologies you use and resources that you have access to (cohorts, datasets, infrastructures).
The calls/topics and examples of specific skills include:
* Phage Therapy against AMR- Clinical researchers with previous experience in the design, performance and evaluation of clinical trials for phage therapies * Mental and Behavior Disorders-Neuroscientists and psychiatrists researching the underlying (molecular, cell, organ and systemic) mechanisms of gambling disorder * Enhanced cell therapies - Clinical and academic researchers with experience on the development of cell therapies other diseases (experience on clinical validation or commercialization is a plus) * Pollution and brain disease- Public health experts with experience on the development and validation of health indicators for prevention and risks mitigation * Orphan and Innovative Devices-Social scientists with experience in the social and economical determinats (age, race, sex and gender, socioeconomic status, migrants, etc.) of health. Special focus on rare diseases and access to health services * AI for Pandemics- AI experts and developers of cutting-edge tools for image analysis, real-time demographics, etc. * Microplastics and Health-Experts on in vitro innovative models and animal-free new approach methodologies (i.e. brain organoids, etc.) for the assessment of micro- and nano-plastics impacts on human health
Please note, there are multiple ways to contribute to each call, not just the examples I highlighted.
The contact at the consortium, Cristina Agudo, who is in charge of international biomedical research programmes (Spanish National Research Council [CSIC], cristina.agudo@csic.es) also noted that if there is a relatively well-defined project idea, you could consider a coordinator role for their team. Typically, CSIC researchers participate as partners in consortia rather than leading externally developed proposals. Should you decide to assemble a consortium, CSIC would be happy to offer our research expertise and EU networks. In this case, please feel free to send them a brief, non-confidential summary of the idea, including the types of R&D profiles they would like to involve. This will help them assess CSIC’s capabilities and identify the most suitable research groups for collaboration.
There is no strict deadline to submit the proposal/Expression of Interest document, but they recommend reaching out before the end of June to maximize the chances of success.
If you have any questions or submit a proposal, please reach out to your research facilitator, we would be happy to help!
Best, Nicole, Esther, and Campbell
