The recently established Institute for the Future of the Book (http://www.futureofthebook.org/) has announced the first of a series of competitions. Born Digital 1: Illumination "calls for a reinvention of the illuminated manuscript" which "exploits the unique possibilities of the digital medium while preserving the classic illuminative relationship between text and image."
