It has recently come to my attention that the page for "Digital Medievalist" in Wikipedia has been deleted by the administrators on the grounds that it "read like an advertisement". Apparently the entry needs to be sober and encyclopedic and cite third party references. Easy enough to do, but apparently no one did.
(I'm just fresh from the battle to prevent the same happening to the Digital Classicist entry, but does anyone want to come along and help reinstate the DM page?)
Cheers,

I thought that the Wikipedia rules stated that people involved in a particular enterprise might not be the ones that write the opening post about it. Am I wrong about this?

That's true, and a good point. I don't know how tightly we ought to interpret "involved in", though? In this case, at least, nobody who isn't "involved in" DM in some sense would be particularly qualified to write the article, would they? Perhaps the most involved people, editors, and such, shouldn't write the article. In which case we need volunteers from interested lurkers etc. to write the entry. (It would, after all, be odd to ban all members from writing about the organisation as a whole, wouldn't it?)

Since Gabriel is really a Digital Classicist, he might be just the person to launch the reinstatement!
