Hello all / Guten Tag / Bonjour
I'm a lecturer in German at Swansea University in Wales, leading a DH project creating tools for exploring multiple diverse translations or versions. For the moment, we're experimenting with a collection of German versions of Shakespeare's Othello: 37 of them, from 1766 to 2010. We aim to create a generic, global platform for working (and playing) with multiple versions of anything in any languages. - www.delightedbeauty.org/vvvhttp://www.delightedbeauty.org/vvv - the team: www.delightedbeauty.org/vvv/Home/Creditshttp://www.delightedbeauty.org/vvv/Home/Credits At my primitive crowd-sourcing site, www.delightedbeauty.orghttp://www.delightedbeauty.org, so far about 70 people from 30 countries have documented and/or created 190 versions of one Shakespeare couplet, in 34 languages.

Dear list,
My name is Øyvind Eide. I work a the Unit for Digital Documentation at the University of Oslo and just finished a PhD in Digital Humanities at King's College London. I am appointed from ALLC: The European Association for Digital Humanities to this SIG.
On reason for my interest in this group is a long time involvement in lexicography in Zimbabwe and Mozambique, and also a first nation perspective in my research, where I use historical sources with a strong link to the Sami nation.
I could have written this in Norwegian as well, but we are so anglicised in Scandinavia it is hardly any point...

Kind regards,
Øyvind Eide Unit for Digital Documentation, University of Oslo
