Dear Alex,
In Mexico undergrad students are obliged to do a certain number of hours of "community service" in order to graduate. Luckily for us, working at a research institute counts as community service! :)
If simple editing, updating, writing is needed (for example, what needs to be updated is in a Word document and you need someone to transfer that information to the webpage) I have got a couple of undergrad students that can help. I know that sometimes getting somebody else to do simple tasks takes longer than actually doing them yourself, but on other occasions it pays off. Let me know.
Best,
Isabel
PS. Also would like to remind you that we are available for easy translations in this scheme too.

Hi Alex, all,
I'd love to help, little by little as well.
I suppose there's work that could also be done like documentation for future users and administrators. Creating some kind documentation/guidelies re: tags, categories, pages, link attributes, periodicity etc. would be good imho.
(I am lucky enough to be employed full time at the moment).
If my help is needed for something like that, here I am.
Best,
Ernesto

Thanks to James Sullivan for the work you did for GO::DH last year. The website is much, much better! It was very nice seeing you last week in Victoria. I meant to buy you a beer, but never found the chance. Next time!
Dear Luis, thanks for your offer, but we need someone with web design and development skills to handle the wordpress site. The social media accounts are good right now.
James C., that's a great idea! If we can only figure out how to find regular funds for GO::DH, like Dan suggests, that would be a great use of our money.
In the meantime, I will be doing some work on the site (little-by-little). Anybody wants to help me, join in.

Hi Ernesto,
Just to note for comparison's sake what we're doing in the TEI (which is also ADHO affiliated in various ways), is that posts like the webmaster and social media coordinator are unpaid but given assistance to some degree in attending the yearly conference. Perhaps ADHO might be willing to do something similar for GO::DH? Where the posts were unpaid, but travel expenses, accommodation, or registration (or some combination or those) for the DH conference were paid depending on the associated value of the post in question.
Just providing it as an example for comparison, but agree with your general intent in highlighting the real work that such posts take.

Hello everyone,
Would it be possible to investigate ways of getting funding for a position like this? As special interest group of the ADHO, is there a way some of the membership we pay can be redirected for positions like this?
As someone who has volunteered as webeditor and social media community manager positions in various academic projects I am very much aware these are positions that we digital humanists should recognise as labour intensive and very time consuming. The web is the gateway to what the group does, and keep asking colleagues (regardless of academic position or career stage) to do it on a completely voluntary basis seems unfair. Particularly when the membership to the ADHO is paid by numerous members and there seems to be budget for other things.
I know talking about money is always awkward but seems necessary to say it, particularly in our field regarding web publishing work.
As always shared with the best intentions!
Warm regards,
Ernesto

Hi all,
We are looking for one or two volunteers to act as website editor for GO::DH to replace James Sullivan, who will be stepping down when a replacement is found.
The GO::DH website is run using Wordpress. The Website editor is an officer of GO::DH and attends the executive meetings.
This would be a great position for anybody who is interested in getting so more about the community and has some webskills.
If you would like more information about the current setup and/or duties, please contact James O'Sullivan (josullivan.c@gmail.commailto:josullivan.c@gmail.com <mailto:josullivan.c@gmail.commailto:josullivan.c@gmail.com>).
