Dear colleagues,
We are very pleased to share the recordings and proceedings from the 2024 Global Digital Humanities Symposiumhttps://2024.msuglobaldh.org/, which took place from March 18-22.
1. Recordings of 32 presentations are available on YouTube herehttps://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLI4NLfLBr4hxed7LHZuU_c87S5UveaZD- 2. Proceedings, including slides and recordings for 15 presentations are available herehttps://msuglobaldh.hcommons.org/.
I particularly want to share with this community, that the proceedings include the work of Bill Hart-Davidson, who gave a keynote presentation on the Friday of the Symposium, “Mixing and Mastering Genre Signals: Generative AI, Writing, and the Near Future of Writing Technologieshttps://msuglobaldh.hcommons.org/2024/05/23/mixing-and-mastering-genre-signals-generative-ai-writing-and-the-near-future-of-writing-technologies/.” A few weeks after the Symposium, Bill suddenly passed away. In addition to giving a keynote presentation in 2024, A Core Faculty member of DH@MSU, Bill served as a champion of the Symposium time and time again over the past decade. He was a mentor and a model of scholarly generosity, embodying the values that we strive to carry out in through our activities. The Global DH Symposium and the DH@MSU community deeply mourn the loss of Bill and consider it an honor to have been one of the last stages on which he shared his special blend of insight and humor. Finally, in much happier news, please save the date for the 10https://msuglobaldh.org/thhttps://msuglobaldh.org/ Global DH Symposiumhttps://msuglobaldh.org/, scheduled for April 2-8, 2025. We have begun planning and look forward to releasing a CFP in August. Thanks, Kristen Mapes Global DH Symposium, Co-Chair
